Run Command for Internet Explorer

One of the fastest ways to open Internet explorer using the Run command is the iexplore.  There are around 6 ways to open the Internet Explorer browser in any system. But if you want to launch the IE using Run command then below post will guide you.

Let us look at the steps to open Internet explorer using this utility. The methods given below are the same for any version of Windows operating system.

Run Command to Launch Internet Explorer

1) Press Windows and R key together to open the RUN toolbox
2) Type iexplore in the box beside Open

3) Press OK in the bottom left corner of the RUN box. This will open Internet Explorer’s default webpage.

If you want to directly open a particular webpage or website through Internet Explorer then do the following:

1) Press Windows and R key together to open the RUN box
2) Type iexplore google.com.

The above command will launch the Google.com in Internet Explorer.

Please note that the URL should be typed exactly as it appears on the site, without www.

For example, if the webpage you want to visit is www.microsoft.com, then you will have to type the following in Run box:

iexplore microsoft.com

Press OK in the bottom left corner of the RUN box. This will open microsoft.com in Internet Explorer

All the steps above work for Microsoft Windows operating systems and not on Mac OS X since Internet explorer was discontinued from all MAC OS after Apple’s Mac OS X 10.6 system version was released.

Use Command Prompt to Launch Internet Explorer

This is a pretty easy step to start the IE using CMD, all you have to follow below steps:

1) Press Windows + R button, type CMD and click on OK button

2) Type start iexplore and hit Enter button

3) This will open the IE on your Windows computer.

Please note that you will have to type start before the iexplore, otherwise it won’t start and show an error message.
